Summer School “25 years of Public Relations Summer School – what’s ahead?”

New Bulgarian University, Sofia

22nd-24th June 2023

From 22 to 24 June, the New Bulgarian University organised the international Summer School “25 years of Public Relations Summer School – what’s ahead?”.

In this framework, the NBU team presented the EUMEPLAT project and some of its main findings to the students’ audience, related to the five main thematic areas of the Summer School:

  • History and theory of PR
  • Digitization of communication
  • Manipulation, fake news and other negative practices and how to overcome them
  • Special events
  • Public affairs and civic communication

In particular, the session that took place on June 22, entitled “Reports and scientific announcements” and moderated by professor Evelina Christova, featured the interventions of Dessislava Boshnakova from the NBU team on “What is the European future in VOD Platforms“, Nico Carpentier and Miloš Hroch from the Charles University team on “Nostalgic Alternatives to Americanisation“ and Vladislav Dimitrov from the NBU team on “Media Manipulation Strategy“.

The Summer School was also the occasion to host another edition of the Delphi+ workshop, in which Bulgarian academics, researchers, artists, film directors, media creatives and tech experts – besides the New Bulgarian University and the Charles University colleagues – took part to discuss about future possible scenarios of the media landscape.
