Conference of the Jean Monnet Network on European Media and Platform Policies (EuromediApp)

On 6th and 7th July, the University Foundation will host the Conference of the Jean Monnet Network on European Media and Platform Policies (EuromediApp) devoted to “Societal Implications of Media Platformisation – Opportunities and Pitfalls for Policy and Governance in the Digital Age”.

On July 7th, 2023, from 10h30 to 11h15 CEST, Professor Andrea Miconi from IULM, EUMEPLAT principal investigator, and Professor Daniël Biltereyst from Ghent University, will present the project research work on Media and Europeanisation during the Session on European Identity, Public Values and Public Service Media in the Age of Platforms.

The same session, chaired by Helena Sousa from the University of Minho, Portugal, and member of the Euromedia Research Group, will feature the speeches of Tim Raats from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, on Reinventing universalism in the platform age, Jo Pierson from Hasselt University, Belgium, on Data disentanglement for safeguarding European public values in media platforms and Karen Donders, Director of Public Value at the Flemish public broadcaster VRT.
