The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya hosted the EUMEPLAT fourth Mid-Term meeting in Barcelona from 2nd to 5th May.

The first day was devoted to the transveral work packages, notably WP6 – Dissemination and Communication. The partners acknowledged the performance of the EUMEPLAT communication channels and exchanged about the next dissemination events to be organised, among which the two conferences on WP4, in Rome for the migration dimension and in Lisbon for the gender one. The scientific dissemination, ensured through the submission and publication of papers and book chapter and the participation in peer-reviewed conferences, was also discussed.

The following days were focused on WP4 – Exclusion: Platformization of Media Representations and WP5 – Power: People and Platforms. The partners presented the main findings from the research with regard to the representation of gender and migration issues in their national media. A collection of best practises from each countries will be issued in the following months.

As for WP5, following up to the Rome meeting, the partners splitted in groups to continue their discussion on the WP5 themes: 1-Surveillance and Resistance; 2-Choice and Algorithms; 3-Toxic Debate and Pluralistic Values; 4-Destructive Technologies (and War); 5-Gender in Societies.

The meeting ended with the Assembly of Partners, composed by one representative from each partner institution, to fix some decisions related to the management and implementation of the project.

EUMEPLAT Fourth Mid-Term meeting Agenda
