On 9 and 10 March 2022, the EUMEPLAT project partners gathered in Venice, at Ca’ Foscari University, and online for the second meeting of the WP2 – Fake News: Platformization of Journalism.

The main aim was to define the methodology to analyse the platformization of news in the 10 project countries, discussing the search query, the list of media and social media to be considered, the codification and analysis of data and the reporting. The codebook developed by ISCTE-IUL was presented by José Moreno and Rita Sepulveda to the partners to collect last comments and suggestions before implementation.

During the meeting, the participants had also an overview of the last deliverables published, namely the D1.4 on the European media legislation, introduced by Volker Grassmuck from HBI, and the D1.5 on data clustering, presented by Ca’ Foscari University. The methodological framework of WP3 – Hegemony: Platformization of Video was also part of the discussion, with a presentation by Dessislava Boshnakova from NBU as WP leader.

The Venice meeting was also the occasion to interview the participants on the objectives and relevance of the EUMEPLAT project. The interviews will be part of the first EUMEPLAT promotional video that will be soon out.
